The Weedly News
Darryl does an excellent job of describing many important aspects of this
leading technology.
Inda-Gro
EFDL Grow Lights provide your plants the best horticultural lighting for
explosive growth and high yields from a single lamp source, for the entire
Veg through Bud cycle, while saving up to 70% of the energy consumed by
traditional lamp technologies.
Beginning with the proven efficiencies of low wattage and high output
EFDL technology, Inda-Gro lamps combine a blend of 12 rare earth
phosphors to supply the proper spectrum for overall plant lighting needs.
First introduced and patented in 1891 by Nikola Tesla,
induction
lamps, while expensive, were always prized for their High Lumens per
watt, Low Operating Temperatures, Crisp Color, Long Lamp Life and Low Lumen
Depreciation over their entire life. Inda-Gro EFDL Dual-Band-Spectrum lamps
have affordably combined the proven benefits of this technology
supplying unique spectral requirements so essential for robust plant
development.
Plant Growth and development
are significantly
influenced be both the quantity and quality of the light received,
converted, through a process known as PHOTOSYNTHESIS, into energy which the plant requires to successfully mature.
Proper indoor grow light, with a
sun light spectrum, can also mitigate disease pressures that are often
seen with plants grown outdoors. These plants are naturally affected by
the number of cloudy days versus sunny days, humidity and leaf wetness.
Lack of solar radiation may subject the plants to disease that the
indoor grower can better control.
The Inda-Gro Light is an Electromagnetic Fluorescent
Discharge Light (EFDL).
A good EFDL lamp is like a fluorescent lamp on steroids, with no electrodes to wear
out quickly, based on Nicola Tesla's well-known principles,
light can be generated via a gas discharge through electromagnetic
induction.
This EFDL Lamp is a light source that combines the
principle of electric-magnetic induction and gas discharging. Since
there's no electrode and filament inside the lamp it is also known as
the "Electrode-less" lamp.
The life time of Electromagnetic Induction
Lamp can be up to 100,000 hours, which is 100 times of incandescent
lamp, 5-15 times of HID (High Intensity Discharge) lamp and 5-10 times
of CFL (Compact Fluorescent Lamp).
Electromagnetic transformers, which consists of rings with metal coils,
create an electromagnetic field around a glass tube which contains a
gas, using a high or low frequency that is generated by an electronic
ballast.
The discharge path, induced by the coils, forms a closed loop causing
acceleration or avalanche of free electrons, which collide with a solid
amalgam of mercury atoms which excite the electrons. As the excited
electrons from these atoms fall back from this higher energy state to a
lower stable level, a plasma state, as they emit ultraviolet radiation.
The UV radiation is converted to visible light as it passes through a
12 phosphor coating on the surface of the tube, which in this instance
produces a strong full spectrum response. All but 2-3% of the UV is
converted, the small remaining UV is beneficial to plant growth.
The unusual shape of an induction lamp maximizes the efficiency of the
fields that are generated
ADVANTAGES: This is a very green technology, with only a
tiny solid amalgam of mercury, in a little bump on the side of the tube,
to excite the electrons for starting the plasma reaction, unlike the more generous mercury
inside fluorescent tubes.
. With Inda-Gro Lights: A 10 Year or 60,000 hours, whichever comes first, Warranty.
60,000 hours equals an
average of 14 hours per day over 10 years.
. One light for the entire Clone through Bud cycles.
. 55-70% energy savings, when mover and air conditioning savings are
accounted for.
. EFDL Produces an extremely effective broad and continuous spectrum
suitable for grow lighting .
. Light efficiency per watt is many fold of that of LED grow lighting.
. The price is lower compared to LED or better than that of the same wattage.
. The lifespan is extended, the light spectrum is more stable and light decay is
decreased, twice that of LED lamps and 10x HPS.
. Lower Temperatures: There are no cooling fans, no noise. Lower temperature operation
can save high cost of air-conditioner, and has less risk of being found by
a remote heat detector. The lower temperature makes for a reduced
fire hazard both from heat and circuit overload. Always use
correctly sized cords, wires and circuit breakers suiting your local
building codes and the requirements of your lighting, and entire system.
COLOR
THEORY: Why Full Color Spectrum makes the most sense.
Outdoor Sunlight produces a full but seasonally shifting spectrum of
light, during the long summer days when the sun is high overhead the
sunlight is of longer duration, greater intensity and contains a higher
ratio of Blue light, HID/MH lamps color rendering index does not mimic
this season's index closely enough, HID lamps produce excessive Yellow
light which is not very useful to growth with harmful UV and IR. levels,
about 25% of the energy is useful. In greenhouses and outdoors, the
long lighting period, the intensity and color content all effect the
amount of growth experienced during the summer season.
During the late summer and fall as
the sun appears to become closer to the horizon, the light passes through the
atmosphere at a progressively sharper angle, through thicker air, and is
filtered by this lens to have a higher ratio of Red. But light
predominately composed of Red and Blue light is not enough. Natural
sunlight also contains Green but appears predominately white, white light actually contains all
visible colors of the natural worlds palette, witnessed by viewing visible light
as it is passes through a prism. Natural light reflects or absorbs as each
plant needs and with each season, the colors we see are those which are largely,
but not totally, reflected.
To simulate a fuller spectrum 3
phosphors is not enough, he optimum way to provide a full color
spectrum is to use a light source that employs 12 phosphors, viewed by our pupils as white.
Our newest lights by
Inda-Gro hold the promise of a full spectrum of
colors in suitable proportions, allowing natures automatic spectrum compensation
and efficient plant/light interception (absorption) to
take effect. The 12 phosphor coating provides a nicely simulated
Rainbow Sun Spectrum.
LED and Spectrum: A very good Spectrum can be
accomplished with LED light now, if one uses enough different nm range bulbs, I
have yet to see truly enough range employed. To date few manufacturers
employ Green, you just can't get a really full spectrum, all of the subtle
variations of colors needed without the Green component.
LED's lack the total intensity of Induction Lighting.
Future Applications of Horticultural
LED Lighting, Specialized Supplemental Light: The experts tell me these
lights will not be supplemental, but an essential factor.
Soon to be
available by custom order, The Bud Booster
T-8 LED Tube, this light will be used for mere minutes after light out as a
phytochrome trigger, to hasten the instigation of Budding, reducing the
phytochrome switch period from 2 hours to 5 minutes
"I
have had time to decide, I love the lights and the light bill. Thank you
for guiding me and helping with the purchase. I will be ordering again in
the next few months. I am also interested in information on the Bud
booster light you have listed on your webpage. I believe induction is the
way to grow.... Thanks again
I started seeds
six weeks ago under the Inda-Gro.
They are 2 1/2 feet tall and ready to be changed to the new light cycle
soon. As a first timer (with Induction Lighting) I am glad I did my
research on (these) lights to be able to save on my electric bill, get a
great crop, and show these men up that say it's a man's world. LOL.
Kicking butt of the 1000w HM and HPS all the way around. It doesn't get
any better than this. Thank you for answering all my questions with this
purchase and my electric setup.
(She used 1 Pro 400 Series Inda-Gro with 320Watts of Blue Booster LED grow
lighting,
the grow
room is 8 x 10.)
I
am very happy with my results since a friend is growing under a 1000w HM
and we started our seeds at the same time, same organic nuts, and same
strains. He started under T5 and about 8 inches tall changed to the 1000w,
his electric bill is crazy, and my plants have full green leaves, about 8
inches taller and little bushes. I am happy to have something to compare
my grow to and rub it in his nose. LOL.
I am trying to decide if I need 2 or 3 more lights and what I wanted. I
guess I know, I want your new light when I am ready. Thanks for all you do
for me. I tell everyone about you and give them your page." -- LK in CO.

"William is the growers most 'enlightened' advanced technology lighting
resource. He earns the title 'Beacon Bill,' with his insights into new
systems that I call 'best-of-class, best-of-breed. Most important, he
understands that his customers are in the 'results business' and require
exemplary service and product support.
I've since purchased multiple, larger lights consistently attaining
excellent productivity increases, two weeks quicker to harvest,
(not confirmed by others) and energy
cost-efficiency. I intend to add his newest Lights without question." --FA in WA.
